Platform: BricsCAD V26

Applications: Civil Site Design V26.2 | Stringer Topo V26.2

If you were using BricsCAD V25 with Civil Site Design or Stringer Topo and you have moved to BricsCAD V26, you may find when you run the BricsCAD Surface Exchange command that the following error message displays and you are unable to exchange surface data:

d6b8dec8fb551136a3f033d62cf303ed72ce6a3a3c11756044617de8bf6b7164ec94945e9364b2c3?t=f0b38cb20335a33ee888fc5d141d01c8

If this error message occurs, it is because of a settings file in Civil Site Design/Stringer Topo that describes the display output styles for creating BricsCAD surfaces.  In the change to BricsCAD V26 there were major coding changes required, which has affected the format of this settings file.

To remedy the problem:

  1. Close BricsCAD V26
  2. Download the attached .zip file
  3. Extract the file in the zip and copy the file bricsCADSurfaceStyles.dat to your CSA Settings folder (rename or overwrite the file in the settings folder).
Note: By default this is located at C:\ProgramData\CSS\ARD\Common\common-10, however organisations may choose to change the settings location.  If unsure, run the Open Settings Folder command from the Civil Site Design/Stringer Topo ribbon to open to the current CSA settings location

After doing the above you will see a single exchange Style (Standard).  You can add and edit the styles to suit your output requirements.
